Your workouts stay yours.

On your iPhone

Timers and settings never leave your phone.

Read on device

Import reads photos and text on your iPhone.

Nothing to sell

No account, no ads, no tracking.

MetconMate is a workout timer made by Jota Design Inc. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and most of what you create never leaves your iPhone. This policy explains the few things that do, and why.

01What stays on your iPhone

Your timers, the workout you're running, your settings, and the text or images you use with Import are stored only on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to us.

02Saved templates

When you save a workout as a template, MetconMate stores it in a cloud database run by our provider, Convex, so the app can load it again. The first time you open MetconMate it creates a random identifier for that installation, and your templates are stored against that identifier.

The identifier is not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, phone number or any other personal information. We don't ask for any of those.

A template contains what you typed into it: its name, intervals, durations and labels. Please don't put personal information in template names.

03Import and your photos

Whiteboard photos, screenshots and pasted text used by Import are read on your iPhone with Google's ML Kit text recognition, which runs on the device. MetconMate never sends the image or the recognized text to us.

ML Kit reports limited usage and diagnostic information to Google, such as performance metrics, errors and a device identifier. Google declares this information as not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.

The first time you import a screenshot, MetconMate asks for access to your photos and reads only the image you pick. Camera access is requested only when you choose to scan. You can change either permission at any time in iOS Settings.

04No ads or tracking

MetconMate contains no advertising and no analytics of our own. We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we don't sell or share personal information. If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated crash reports and usage statistics.

05App updates

Small fixes can reach you between App Store releases through Expo's update service. When the app checks for an update, Expo receives the technical details needed to deliver it, such as the app and iOS version, a random update token and your IP address. This isn't used to identify you or for advertising.

07Deleting your data

Delete a template inside MetconMate and it's removed from our database. Deleting the app removes your timers and settings from your iPhone. Templates stay in our database until you delete them in the app or ask us to. To have them deleted after you've removed the app, or to ask what we hold, email support@metconmate.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

08Children

MetconMate is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

09Changes to this policy

When MetconMate adds features that change what's described here, we'll update this page and the effective date before those features ship.
